O'Brien: Shift to higher margins. Ashland agreed to acquire International Specialty Products (ISP; Wayne, NJ) for $3.2 billion in cash, expanding Ashland’s presence in higher-growth specialty chemical such as personal care and pharmaceutical ingredients.
