Unipetrol sharpens focus on petchems in 2013–17 strategy

Unipetrol (Prague), a subsidiary of Central Europe’s largest refiner and petrochemicals producer, PKN Orlen (Plock, Poland), says it intends to strengthen its petrochemicals market position through restructuring and efficiency improvements under the company’s 2013–17 strategy. Unipetrol has allocated an annual capital expenditure (capex) of 3.8 billion koruny ($196.6 million) during the period, roughly a 50% increase on the 2008–12 period. Most of the capex will be spent on projects in the petrochemicals and power segments, Unipetrol says...
