Strong Demand Lifts Full-Year European Chemical Earnings

More European chemical companies reported increases in full-year 2007 earnings, helped by stronger demand and improved selling prices. Unfavorable currency exchange rates negatively impacted profits, however, companies say. Givaudan’s net income fell because of integration costs related to the company’s acquisition of Quest International from ICI early last year. Potier: A year of progress.
