Solvay and Arkema Disentangle Vinyls Joint Ventures in France and Spain

SolVin (Brussels) and Arkema have each bought back the minority cross-holdings in the companies’ vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) production joint ventures in France and Spain. The deals took effect at the beginning of this month. SolVin is majority owned by Solvay. The jv’s are VinylFos (Fos, France), in which Arkema had 79% and SolVin 21%; VinylBerre (Berre, France), a 65-35 jv between Arkema and SolVin; and Vinilis (Martorell, Spain), in which SolVin had 65% and Arkema 35%.
