Chemical Week Magazine :: Business & Finance :: Europe/Mideast Solvay Takes 13% Stake in Fuel Cell Company10:38 AM MST | December 3, 2008 | Alex Scott Solvay disclosed today that it has taken a 13%-stake in the ownership of fuel cell developer ACAL Energy (Runcorn, U.K.) for EUR1.49 million ($1.9 million). ACAL says it will use the funds from the Solvay investment to accelerate the development of its FlowCath fuel cell technology. ACAL claims its technology reduces the manufacturing cost and improves the reliability of fuel cells.
