Sirius Targets Early 2017 for U.K. Potash Startup

Sirius Minerals (London), a global potash exploration and development company, has completed a detailed scoping study to develop the previously announced York Potash project in the U.K. Sirius is targeting initial production for early 2017. The company estimates that the first phase of the project will cost $2.7 billion covering the mining and processing of 5 million m.t./year of polyhalite ore, to produce 1.4 million m.t./year of potassium sulfate.
