Sibur Upgrades Caprolactam Unit

Kemerovo Azot (Kemerovo, Russia), a subsidiary of Sibur Holding (Moscow), plans an investment of rubles 779 million ($30 million) to upgrade its caprolactam plant at Kemerovo. The modernization will help cut energy consumption, increase efficiency of the plant’s fractionating columns, and phase out outdated equipment, Sibur says. It is due to be completed in 2009.
