Oman Restructures Refinery and Petchem Operations under New Name

Oman has completed a restructuring that combined and integrated the country’s Oman Refineries and Petrochemicals, Aromatics Oman, and Oman Polypropylene companies under the new name Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Co. (Orpic; Muscat). Orpic is owned by the government of Oman and by Oman Oil, the country’s energy-investment business. Orpic, which has production at Muscat and Sohar, aims to boost Oman’s refining and petrochemicals industry by improving efficiencies as well as operational and financial performance.
