Oleochemicals company Oleon (Ertvelde, Belgium) held an inauguration ceremony last month for a new bio-propylene glycol production plant at Ertvelde. The €8.2-million ($10.2 million) plant was opened by Kris Peeters, regional minister-president of Flanders, Belgium. Oleon’s new plant produces bio-propylene glycol from glycerin and reduces the CO2 balance by 70% compared with petroleum-based propylene glycol manufacture, the company says.
