Chemical Week Magazine :: Business & Finance :: Europe/Mideast Lonza Raises Working Hours at Visp to Secure Site’s Future10:48 AM MDT | July 8, 2011 | —NATASHA ALPEROWICZ Lonza has increased weekly working hours, without accompanying pay increases, for all employees at the company’s Visp, Switzerland manufacturing complex, to improve the site’s profitability. The measures took effect July 1 and will continue through 2012. Weekly working hours at the Visp site will increase from an average of 41, to 43 hours. The site employs about 2,900, accounting for more than one-third of Lonza’s global workforce.
