Ineos Acquires Tessenderlo’s PVC and Chlor-Alkali Business

Ineos’s Kerling subsidiary has agreed to acquire Tessenderlo Group’s polyvinyl chloride (PVC) activities, including Tessenderlo’s chlor-alkali operations and part of the company’s organic chlorine derivatives (OCD) operation. The purchase price is €110 milion ($160 million) on a cash-free and debt-free basis. Tessenderlo announced last year that it was planning to exit the PVC business. The company has capacity to make 400,000 m.t./year of chlorine; 550,000 m.t./year of vinyl chloride monomer (VCM); and 480,000 m.t./year of PVC...
