Improved selling prices and strong demand, helped to lift profits, producers say. Syngenta’s sales increased 28%, to $3.8 billion because of “substantial volume growth,” higher selling prices, and the weak dollar. Net income was not disclosed. Crop protection sales rose 31%, to about $2.7 billion because of “a strong start to the northern hemisphere season and continued momentum in Latin America,” it says. Asia/Pacific markets continued...
