Germany and Norway call for information on PFOA and related substances

The German and Norwegian authorities are working on a restriction proposal for perfluorooactanoic acid (PFOA) and PFOA-related substances and have launched a call for information, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) has announced. Related substances include precursors that can be degraded to PFOA. The following substances are foreseen to be covered by the restriction proposal: perfluorooactanoic acid, any other linear- or branched perfluoroheptyl derivative, and any linear- or branched perfluorooctyl derivatives.
