German Chemical Workers Clinch 4.5% Wage Rise

IG BCE (Hanover), the trade union that represents 550,000 German chemical industry workers, says it has reached a collective agreement with German chemical industry employer representatives covering a 4.5% wage rise for IG BCE’s members. The agreement will be valid for 19 months, and puts the core working time at 37.5 hours/week with possible temporary working times of 35 hours-40 hours/week, the union says.
