Fourth-quarter 2007 European specialty chemical results varied across market sectors. Selling price hikes were successful in some segments, and raw material and energy costs rose across all businesses, producers say. Unfavorable currency exchange rates affected all companies. DSM’s net income rose 26%, to €112 million ($163.7 million) on sales up 7%, to €2.2 billion.
