European Commission welcomes measures to protect workers against exposure to hazardous chemicals

The European Commission says that it welcomes measures adopted by the European Union's council of ministers today to better protect workers from risks linked to exposure to chemicals at the workplace. The new directive amends five existing health and safety directives on the protection of workers from exposure to harmful chemicals. The current directives protect workers when using chemicals, whereas the new rules relate to supply of chemicals, and will bring these five directives into line with the latest regulations on classification, labelling, and packaging...
