Egyptian Firm Buys Ammonia Terminal at the Port of Rotterdam

OCI Fertilizer International, an Orascom Construction Industries (OCI; Cairo) subsidiary, has signed an agreement to acquire Micro Chemie (Rotterdam). Micro Chemie owns and operates ammonia storage tanks with combined storage capacity for 30,000 m.t. at the port of Rotterdam where it leases a separate terminal with a permit to receive up to 600,000 m.t./year of ammonia. It’s 25-year lease began in 2002 and is extendable for another 25 years after the contract expires. The terminal has waterway access comprising two jetties, which can accommodate large tankers...
