ECHA proposes stronger classification of BPA

The risk assessment committee (RAC) of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) has adopted an opinion to strengthen the existing classification of bisphenol A (BPA) under the agency's harmonised classification and labeling (CLH) regulations to a category 1B reproductive toxicant regarding the adverse effects on sexual function and fertility.
