The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) has opened a public consultation on potential candidates for substitution of six active substances. If the evaluating competent authority concludes in its evaluation that the active substance meets the criteria for substitution under the appropriate article of the biocidal products regulation (BPR), ECHA will make information on the substance available to the public, before submitting its opinion to the European Commission on the approval or renewal of approval of the active substance.
