ECHA Names 13 Chemical Substances for Reach Authorization

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) has submitted to the European Commission a recommendation that 13 substances of very high concern (SVHC) should no longer be used in the European Union (EU) without authorization under the EU’s Registration, Evaluation, and Authorisation of Chemicals (Reach) regulation. ECHA has identified each of the substances as carcinogenic, mutagenic, or toxic to reproduction. They are used in applications where there is potential for worker exposure.
