Dow to close Grangemouth plastic additives plant

Dow Chemical has informed its staff that it intends to cease manufacturing at its Grangemouth, UK, plastic additives plant and close the site. The plant, which Dow acquired as part of its 2009 purchase of Rohm and Haas, produces methyl methacrylate butadiene styrene impact modifiers. The plant employs 66 people. The decision follows Dow’s unsuccessful attempt to sell the site, which the company announced in April.
