Clariant ups nonhalogenated flame retardant capacity

Clariant has opened a second production unit for the company’s nonhalogenated Exolit OP flame retardant (FR) at Hürth-Knapsack, Germany. The new facility doubles capacity for diethyl phosphinic acid aluminum salt-based FRs, used primarily in the electronics and electrical engineering (E&EE) sector.The company says it is responding to growing demand for environmentally friendly FRs for plastics in the global E&EE market.
