Borealis to buy DEXPlastomers from DSM, ExxonMobil

Borealis says it has reached an agreement to acquire DEXPlastomers (Heerlen, Netherlands), an equally owned joint venture between DSM and ExxonMobil Chemical. DEXPlastomers is a producer of ExxonMobil-process Exact plastomers, and Stamylex octene comonomer linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) using DSM technology. The company operates a 120,000-m.t./year solution-process polyethylene facility at Geleen, Netherlands. The deal, which includes the sale of DSM's linear low-density Compact solution technology, is expected to close in the first quarter of 2013...
