BASF Acquires PET Foam Business from Italian Firm

BASF says it has acquired the polyethylene terephthalate (PET) foam business of B.C. Foam (Volpiano, Italy). The acquisition covers production facilities and intellectual property, including a PET extrusion process that enables the production of high-performance PET foams with very high densities, BASF says. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
