Altana sales and Ebitda rise in first-half 2014

Specialty chemicals company Altana (Wesel, Germany) says it increased earnings in first-half 2014 to €985 million ($1.32 billion) compared with €887 million a year ago, an increase of 11%. Ebitda leapt 19%, to €212 million, versus €178 million in the corresponding period in 2013. The company says that it also increased Ebitda margin to 21.5% “from the already high level of 20.1%.” The company has not released figures for second-quarter 2014.
