Chemical Week Magazine :: Business & Finance :: Europe/Mideast Al Waha Complex Offline Due to Technical Fault12:19 PM MDT | July 22, 2011 | —NATASHA ALPEROWICZ Sahara Petrochemicals (Riyadh) says its Al Waha joint venture had to take its entire complex at Jubail, Saudi Arabia offline on July 16 due to a technical fault in the effluent recycling compressor. Sahara holds 75% of Al Waha and LyondellBasell has the rest. The jv anticipates repairs to be completed within two weeks. The interruption will lead to a 16,000-m.t. shortfall in the production of polypropylene (PP), worth about SR94 million ($25.1 million) at current PP prices.
