Acron (Velikiy Novgorod, Russia) has failed in an attempt to become the majority shareholder in Azoty Tarnów (Tarnów, Poland), the leading chemicals producer in Poland. This failure follows Tarnów’s management’s rejection of the proposed deal and a move by the Polish Treasury to merge Tarnów with its competitor ZakÅ‚ady Azotowe PuÅ‚awy (PuÅ‚awy, Poland) in an effort to block Acron’s bid.
