The Ciner Group (Istanbul) is going ahead with previously announced plans to build a world-scale natural soda ash plant in Turkey. The company anounced earlier this month that it had signed a $1.35-billion contract with China Tianchen Engineering Corp. (TCC) to build the plant, which will be the world’s largest natural soda ash facility. Ciner will build the plant at Kazan, near Ankara—a former Rio Tinto site.
