Bayer details R&D spending, names innovation projects

Bayer provided details last week of its 2012 R&D budget, including the split of expenditures among the company’s three subgroups: Bayer HealthCare, Bayer CropScience, and Bayer MaterialScience. Speaking at a press briefing, with the theme Bayer Perspective on Innovation, held last week in Leverkusen, Bayer chairman and CEO Marijn Dekkers said that the group’s R&D budget this year is €3 billion ($3.83 billion), “making it the largest budget in our industry in Germany.” The company says it submitted more than 600 patent...
