Borealis has signed an agreement with a DuPont holding subsidiary in the Netherlands to purchase that company’s 67% share in Speciality Polymers Antwerp (Zwijndrecht, Belgium), Borealis says. A Borealis polymers subsidiary and one at Kallo, Netherlands, already jointly own the remaining 33% stake. The Speciality Polymers Antwerp plant is designed to produce a combined 120,000 m.t./year of ethylene acrylate and ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) copolymers. DuPont, under the proposed arrangement, will continue to serve the market with EVA and ethylene acrylate...
