Reduces BMS Output; More Cuts to Come10:16 AM MST | December 22, 2008 | Natasha Alperowicz in Leverkusen Bayer is responding to “considerably weaker sales and earnings” at its Bayer MaterialScience (BMS) subgroup by cutting back production in some areas, says Werner Wenning, Bayer chairman and CEO. More cutbacks are to come, he adds. BMS sales and earnings were even weaker in November than the previous month, Wenning told journalists at a recent presentation in Leverkusen. “We are preparing further measures next year such as temporary shutdowns and short-time working,” he says.
