Israel Chemicals Ltd. (ICL) and AkzoNobel have announced that they have signed a nonbinding memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaboratively produce and market vacuum salt and white potash. The MOU signed by AkzoNobel and ICL’s Spanish subsidiary, ICL Iberia, calls for the production and marketing of 1.5 million m.t./year of vacuum salt as well as 50,000 m.t./year of white potash. The chemical industry uses high-purity vacuum salt, manufactured from a salt by-product of potash mining, in a variety of applications, and the food and feed industries apply...
