Yara buys Rest of Australian Firm

Hogna: Liquid fertilizers attractive in Australia. Yara International says it has purchased the 60% it did not own of Yara Nipro (Brisbane, Australia), a market leader in bulk liquid fertilizers in eastern Australia, from Yara Nipro’s founders. Financial terms were not disclosed. Yara purchased its 40% stake in Nipro in January 2008. Yara Nipro’s liquid fertilizer business “makes it particularly attractive in regions of water scarcity like many parts of Australia,” says Egil Hogna, head of Yara Downstream.
