Ube Chemicals Asia was established last February following the merger of Ube’s Thai Caprolactam and Ube Nylon Thailand subsidiaries. Ube holds a 93% stake in Ube Chemicals Asia and Marubeni holds 6%. Ube Chemicals Asia will invest ¥3 billion ($36 million) to add 20,000 m.t./year of caprolactam capacity, and the expansion will raise the company’s total caprolactam capacity to 130,000...
