Chemical Week Magazine :: Business & Finance :: Asia/Pacific Toray Assesses Flood Damage in Thailand, Restarts Some Plants6:05 AM MST | December 9, 2011 Toray Industries says that damage assessment began on November 26 at the Ayutthaya, Thailand plant of the company’s Thai Toray Synthetics (TTS; Bangkok) subsidiary, which stopped operating on October 6 as a result of the recent floods. The Ayutthaya plant produces nylon yarns for industrial use and polyester yarn for apparels. It has not been decided when the plant will restart, Toray says. Restoration work also began on November 17 at TTS’s Bangkok plant, which halted operations on October 26 due to flooding. The Bangkok plant produces nylon and polyester...
