Chemical Week Magazine :: Business & Finance :: Asia/Pacific Tokuyama to restructure Precipitated Silica Business2:18 PM MDT | October 17, 2011 | —DEEPTI RAMESH Tokuyama (Tokyo) says it has decided to restructure its precipitated silica business by February 29, 2012. The company plans to cease marketing activities for its Tokusil and Finesil brands of precipitated silica, which it stopped manufacturing in Japan last year, and transfer marketing responsibility to two overseas affiliates. Tokuyama discontinued production of Tokusil and Finesil at the company’s Shunan, Japan plant in March 2010. Tokuyama has been selling these brands since then by receiving supplies from its Tokuyama Siam Silica Co. (TSSC; Bangkok)... This information is only available to Chemical Week subscribers.
