Thailand’s PTT to Merge Petchem Affiliates this Year

Energy company PTT (Bangkok) expects to decide on a merger plan for several of its petrochemical-producing affiliates by the end of this quarter and to start implementing the merger in the third quarter. PTT CEO Prasert Bunsumpun confirmed the plan earlier this month in widely reported comments to journalists in Bangkok, but he did not provide details of which companies would be combined.State-controlled PTT had been expected initially to merge Integrated Refinery and Petrochemical Complex Co.
