Taiwan to investigate LCY following propylene explosions

Taiwanese authorities are investigating the role of LCY Chemical in a series of explosions at Kaohsiung on the night of 31 July that killed 30 people and injured more than 300. The local government’s environmental protection bureau said on 2 August that the explosions were triggered by a leak in an underground pipeline used by LCY to obtain propylene from one of its suppliers.
