SolVin Plans PVDC Unit

SolVin (Brussels), a leading producer of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and other vinyl products, is planning to build a second polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC) latex plant, most likely in Asia. A final decision is due by the third quarter, and construction would begin soon after. The project reflects fast-growing global demand for PVDC latex, the company says. SolVin is a 75-25 joint venture between Solvay and BASF.
