Chemical Week Magazine :: Business & Finance :: Asia/Pacific SolVin Plans PVDC Unit9:51 AM MDT | July 27, 2007 | DR SolVin (Brussels), a leading producer of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and other vinyl products, is planning to build a second polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC) latex plant, most likely in Asia. A final decision is due by the third quarter, and construction would begin soon after. The project reflects fast-growing global demand for PVDC latex, the company says. SolVin is a 75-25 joint venture between Solvay and BASF. The planned PVDC latex unit would have a capacity of 10,000 m.t./year and could be built at the Map Ta Phut, Thailand site of VinyThai, another Solvay PVC...
