Sinopec temporarily shuts three petchem units

The Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP; Beijing) says that Sinopec has asked three of its subsidiaries in Guangdong Province, China to suspend operations temporarily due to alleged violation of certain environmental regulations. The three subsidiaries—Sinopec Guangzhou Petrochemical (Guangzhou), Sinopec Zhanjiang Dongxing Petrochemical (Zhanjiang), and polystyrene (PS) producer New Sino-US Chemical (Zhanjiang)—have been ordered to take corrective actions.
