Sinopec and PetroChina Expand Petrochemical Activities

Sinopec Group, the parent of Sinopec, has signed a framework deal with the government of Henan Province, China, covering: a possible project to build a methanol-to-olefins plant at the site of Sinopec subsidiary Zhongyuan Petrochemical (Puyang, China); an expansion of the refinery and petrochemical complex of Luoyang Co. (Luoyang, China), another Sinopec subsidiary, by 2013; and cooperation in the oil and gas sector, media reports say. Sinopec signed a similar deal with Fujian Province last month, reports add.
