Showa Denko, KH Neochem to dissolve ethyl acetate JV

Showa Denko and petrochemical company KH Neochem (Tokyo) have agreed to dissolve their joint venture Japan Ethyl Acetate (JEA; Oita). JEA was established in 2003 at Showa Denko’s Oita site as a jv between Showa Denko and Kyowa Hakko Kogyo, which is now called Kyowa Hakko Kirin. The chemical business was spun off from Kyowa Hakko Kirin in 2011, and the name of the business was changed to KH Neochem in April 2012. JEA, which was established to strengthen the ethyl acetate businesses of the parent companies, began commercial production in April 2004. Demand...
