Earnings were mixed among Asian petrochemical firms for the quarter ended June 30. Some firms say they were helped by price and volume increases, despite high oil and raw material cots. Reliance Industries’ net profits increased 13%, to $955 million, for its fiscal first quarter. Sales rose 38%, to $10 billion, due in part to price and volume gains, Reliance says. Petchem production volumes increased 4%, to 5 million m.t. The company produced 458,000 m.t. of ethylene, an increase of 2%. Propylene output was unchanged at 181,000 m.t., as was combined...
