PTT Global Chemical expands aromatics capacity

PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC; Bangkok) says it has signed an engineering, procurement, and construction contract with SK Engineering & Construction (SK; Seoul) and PTT Maintenance and Engineering (Map Ta Phut), for a debottlenecking project at PTTGC’s aromatics 2 plant at Map Ta Phut. The total investment in the project will be $128.8 million. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2015. The debottlenecking will increase para -xylene capacity by 115,000 m.t./year, to 770,000 m.t./year; and benzene capacity will increase by 35,000 m.t./year...
