Orica Receives Approval to Restart some Plants

Orica (Melbourne) says that the state Environment Protection Authority (EPA) of New South Wales (NSW), Australia lifted certain prevention notices on December 6 that had been issued on Orica’s Kooragang Island, NSW site. EPA issued the work prevention notices following an ammonia leak at the site last month. Orica’s ammonium nitrate (AN) and nitric acid plants at the Kooragang Island site were shut down on November 9 following the leak.
