Mitsui to sell maleic anhydride and fumaric acid businesses

Mitsui Chemicals says it will sell its maleic anhydride and fumaric acid businesses to Fuso Chemical (Osaka) by October. Details of the agreement will be discussed, and a formal business transfer agreement is expected to be signed by late June, Mitsui says. The sale will include Mitsui’s production plants at Kashima, Japan, that produce 32,000 m.t./year of maleic anhydride and 15,000 m.t./year of fumaric acid.
