Mitsui and Sumitomo signed a basic agreement and are exploring the possibility of establishing a new company that would take over each firm’s fertilizer raw material export and import business. Mitsui and Sumitomo also plan to merge their Japanese fertilizer manufacturing and sales subsidiaries Summit Agri-Business Corp. and Mitsui Bussan Agro-Business Co., and would make the combined entity a wholly owned subsidiary of the newly merged...
