Mitsui Develops Hexene Catalyst Technology

Mitsui Chemicals says it has developed a homogeneous catalyst technology to produce C6. The company plans to build a 30,000-m.t./year C6 plant using the technology. The plant is set to be onstream by 2010. Further details were not disclosed. The catalyst selectively trimerizes ethylene, Mitsui says. The technology was developed with olefin polymerization catalyst technologies that Mitsui has accumulated.
