Japanese Firms Report Varying Annual Results

Major Japanese chemical companies have recorded varying results for the fiscal year ended March 31. Companies’ operating environment was affected by continuously rising feedstock and fuel costs, and by the U.S. economic slowdown triggered by the rise in subprime mortgage defaults.
