DSM in discussions to buy China’s Aland Nutraceutical

DSM says that it is in exclusive discussions with Aland Nutraceutical (Jingjiang, China), a worldwide producer of vitamin C, to aquire the latter company. The discussions may result in the acquisition, DSM says. The relatively small acquisition, if successful, would strengthen DSM’s position in the vitamin C market, DSM says. Aland, established in 1990, has a production facility in Jiangsu Province, China, and the company generated sales of about $90 million in 2013 through its vitamin C business, DSM says.
